Leah Bush, M.D., Chief Medical Examiner

Leah Bush, MD is currently the Chief Medical Examiner Previously had been in Tidewater for over 18 years. She is board certified in anatomic pathology, clinical pathology and forensic pathology. Dr. Bush received her B.S. in biology from Virginia Tech, her M.S. in biology from Virginia Commonwealth University and her M.D. from the Medical College of Virginia (MCV). She completed a pathology residency at MCV and a forensic pathology fellowship at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Richmond, Virginia.

Leah has appeared in Who’s Who twice and was named “Woman of the Year” in 1992. She regularly appears on television, either during court proceedings or on various local and national crime related programs. She also does some consulting work for the award winning television show, CSI. Leah enjoys traveling and snow skiing as well as most water sports. She was born in Kentucky but then left with her parents as a baby to spend all her time, until she returned to the U.S. for college, in Southeast Asia growing up. Her family lived in Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines giving her a diverse, multicultural background.
